About POWER2IDEA B-Plan

POWER2IDEA by INNOLABZ at Shaastra, IIT Madras is an initiative to bring the dynamic communities of innovators and entrepreneurs together. It is a collaborative competition to develop extraordinary ideas that hold viable solutions.
If you are an entrepreneur with an igniting idea, this is a great opportunity for you to gain recognition and advance professionally.

About B-Plan Competition:

Round 1 (Shortlisting) - Abstract Submission:

This is a shortlisting Round. The abstract is a basic overview of your business idea, its objective, projections and roadmap. Upon successful submission, your abstract will be evaluated on Innolabz signature format:

  • R - Research
  • S -Sustainability
  • V -Viability
  • P -Profitability

Round 2 (Final) - B-Plan Presentation:

The shortlisted candidates from Round-1 will get opportunity to present their idea in front of Jury Panel of Innolabz at Shaastra in IIT Madras.

Rewards

  • Winner: Rs 50000/- Cash Prize + Free incubation and mentoring support by InnoLabZ Ventures for a period of 6 months.
  • Runner Up: Rs 25,000/- Cash Prize + 3 sessions of Mentoring on Financial, Digital and Go-to Market Strategy.
  • Note: All the participants will be awarded a ‘Participation Certificate’ for their valuable participation in the event.

  • A link will appear upon the payment of the registration fee. The link will direct the applicant to a questionnaire. The applicant shall answer ALL questions in brief to complete the application procedure.
The shortlisted applicants will be informed and will be sent their confirmation to secure the ‘Entry Pass’ for entering the final event through mail and will get an opportunity to showcase their idea at Shaastra in IIT Madras in front of eminent panel of Investors and Specialized Mentors.

Eligibility

  • The event is open for teams comprising of students, corporate professionals, entrepreneurs as well as other independent individuals
  • The event welcomes both the Idea-stage and Start-up stage entries
  • Rewards for the winners in the respective categories are:
    • Idea Stage Entries: Prize money, Mentoring and Incubation
    • MVP stage/Running Start-ups: Prize money/Investment and Mentoring

Team:

  • A team must have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 members.
  • One team is allowed to pitch only 1 idea per registration. If a team or a member wishes to pitch more than 1 idea, they shall have to register separately for both the entries.
  • Once the team has registered, any changes in the team structure or participation shall not be entertained.
  • The registration fee is non-refundable for the shortlisted ideas.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION Ends on 25rd December, 2018
RESULT OF ROUND 1 (all categories) 26th December, 2018
FINAL PITCH (for all shortlisted teams) 3rd January, 2019 - 6th January, 2019
REGISTRATION FEE The registration fee is INR 199/- for all team size. If team gets shortlisted in any category, the Entry Pass to Pitch in IIT Madras is 999 per person per team. If team doesn't gets shortlisted, they can try for the next chapter of Power2Idea in Delhi.

Why IIT-Madras ?

‘Shaastra’ at IIT-Madras is the annual technical festival.

IIT-Madras being one of the top-ranking institutions, ‘Shaastra’ has now become one of the largest student-led technical fests in India.

The festival is traditionally held over four days and four nights during the first week of January. It has so far seen eighteen editions, having started in its current avatar in the year 2000. Shaastra attracts participation from all over India, and seeks to provide collegiate students with a platform to showcase their scientific and engineering talents. Shaastra is entirely student managed and holds the distinction of being the first such event in the world to be ISO 9001:2015 certified for implementing a Quality Management System.

How to reach IIT Madras

  • IIT Madras campus is situated about 12 kms from Chennai Central Railway Station. The other landmarks are the Guindy Snake Park adjacent to the IIT Main gate, Gandhi Mandapam (Anna University Stop) and the Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) campus Opposite to IIT Madras.
    The following are the ways to reach IIT Madras from railway stations (Central & Egmore) and Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT).
  • From Chennai Central:
    You can reach Saidapet by bus and from there you can travel by bus that goes to Adyar. You get down at CLRI Bus stop which is opposite to IIT Main Gate. You can also reach Adyar Signal by bus and from there you can reach IIT Main Gate.
  • Local Train:
    You can walk down to Park Railway Station which is opposite to the Central Station and take a MRTS (local) train to reach Kasturba Nagar (Adayar) and reach the campus from there by walk.
    Chennai-Egmore:
    If you arrive at the Chennai Egmore station, you can take 23C to IIT/ CLRI bus stop.
  • From Bus Terminus:
    If you are traveling by bus all along from your town and reach Koyambedu, commonly known as CMBT, from CMBT, you can come to institute by taking city bus T70 or by Call-Taxi or Auto.
